The process begins with aromatic fruit water recovered from IFF’s fruit production. Rather than allowing this valuable material to go unused, its aromatic molecules are captured and transformed into a concentrated natural extract for perfumery.

How Is PulpXtract™ Created?

PulpXtract™ is produced through a physical concentration process designed to isolate the most expressive aromatic molecules found in fruit water.

First, the fruit water passes through a stainless-steel column containing a specialized resin. As the water moves through the column, the resin captures the aromatic molecules.

Alcohol is then used to gently release those molecules from the resin. Finally, only selected aromatic fractions are retained, giving perfumers a refined, high-quality natural extract that can be used within a fragrance composition.

This process allows the fruit’s authentic aromatic character to be recovered and concentrated while giving new purpose to a material from fruit production.
